Background Information

 Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13,1743 and died July 4, 1826 in Monticello, Virgina. He was the 3rd president of the U.S., He was a minister, lived on a farm, and he had a very large and wealthy family. His hobbies were fishing, hikeing, canoeing, and playing the violin.

 

Role in the American Revolution

 He was one of the 5 men who wrote the Declaration of Independence then gave it to John Handcock on July4,1776. He doubled the nation. He was the president.

1743-Jefferson was born on April 13 in Shadwell, Virginia

1760- Thomas wrote the Declaration of Independence.                        

1801- Thomas was elected the third president.

1801-1809- Jefferson took a big interest in The Liberty of Congress.

1826- 10 days before his death he wrote about self-govervnment benifits.

1826- Jefferson died on July 4 in Monticello, Virginia.                                           

 

The Importance of this Patriot

 He wanted the 13 colonies to become one and he wrote the Declaration of Independence. He doubled the nation.
